Joseph Colosimo grew up in South Florida and spent the early part of his career in medical sales — an experience that sharpened his ability to break down complex information and communicate it clearly to people who needed it most. That same instinct for simplification is what eventually drew him to insurance. He joined Hotaling Insurance Services to work alongside family and to build something he finds genuinely fulfilling: helping clients understand exactly what they have and why it matters.
He specializes in life insurance and property and casualty coverage, with growing expertise on the employee benefits and health side. His core belief is that too many people carry policies they don’t fully understand — and that it’s a producer’s job to change that. Joseph takes the time to sit with clients, walk through what they actually own, and make sure coverage works the way they expect it to when it counts.
Before insurance, Joseph earned his junior sommelier certification — which, if nothing else, proves he takes the things he cares about seriously.
Outside the office, Joseph is most himself on the golf course, in the kitchen, or out on the water. As he puts it, cooking and sharing a meal is the best way he knows to show love and appreciation — a very Italian perspective he’s not apologizing for. He’s also an avid hiker and fisherman, and has done volunteer work with the Special Olympics, with plans to expand that commitment in 2026. Above all, he’ll tell you his family is his ultimate purpose — everything else is just a very good life built around them.
