Vince Castro is a successful insurance industry leader and
community advocate based in South Florida. Born in Havana, Cuba,
Vince and his family arrived in Miami in 1980 as political refugees
during the Mariel Boatlift. He later earned a Business Administration
degree from Miami Dade College (MDC). In recognition of his
exceptional achievements as a business leader in the community, he
was inducted into MDC’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2023.
Vince’s extensive career in the insurance and financial field spans
more than 25 years. Following the merger of Akumen Insurance
Advisors with Hotaling Insurance Services (HIS) in October 2022, he
is now a Partner & Regional President of HIS. His expertise lies in
Commercial Property & Casualty, Employee Benefits, Private Client
Insurance, Life Insurance, and Estate Planning, with a focus on highnet-
worth clients. Prior to joining HIS, Vince was part of the
executive management team of Brown and Brown (NYSE: BRO)
insurance company after selling his company, BenTrust Insurance
Group, to them in 2015.
Outside of work, Vince is a dedicated family man who loves
spending time with his wife Jennifer and their children, Vicente,
Lorenzo, Valentina, and Summer Rose. He also takes an active role
in various community organizations. Vince currently serves as
Chairman of the Board of Directors for Voices for Children, which
supports abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Miami-Dade
County. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for F.A.C.E
(Facts About Cuban Exiles), which seeks to advance the image of
Cuban Americans in the US. Vince is passionate about giving back
to the community that has given him so much. In his free time, Vince
enjoys boating in Miami and the Bahamas and playing golf. His
dedication to his family, profession, and community has made him a
respected and influential figure in South Florida.
